The Dust Canvas is an allegory of our time. It is a portrait made out of the world for the world. We have woven together all the micro-believes and micro-realities constituted by the individuals who create the plurality of the present. It is a social collective portrait in which we have tried to stop and catch the element that disturbs human existence and shows its fragility: the material transformation. Matter is for Life, and it is always alive.
The stretched threads of the frame are like the rods of an abacus, whose unit is the perception of time. There is no hierarchy, but a mixture and coexistence of elements and species. An honest portrait where both the subject and the matter are alive.
A tool for capturing and studying time has now become a canvas of dust.
Creating forms in an advanced state of existence is an act of resistance against our own “deadly” nature. The canvas does not give answers, but notes behaviors and questions.
