Alice Mestriner (Italy) and Ahad Moslemi (Iran) met in Canada in 2017, where they began to collaborate
Ahad Moslemi (Teheran, 1983).
In 1998 he began his studies at the School of Fine Arts in Tehran. In 2011 he emigrated to Canada where he continued his studies at the University of Quebec in Trois-Rivières at the department of Arts Plastiques. He participated in exhibitions and conferences in Canada, Mexico, Greece, and the United States. In 2016 he won the Prix du Doyen with the project “Les Conséquences de la guerre sur les enfants”. He won the prize ”Gilles-Verville” in 2016. In the same year he was invited at the conference “A Continuous state of Time” for the 56th Venice Biennale together with the artist Ola-Dele Kuku. In 2017 he participated in the North Adams (U.S.A.) Prints Biennial.
Alice Mestriner (Treviso, 1994). 2022 MA in Visual Arts at Iuav University of Venice. 2017 BA in Multimedia Arts at Iuav University of Venice. She studied at NODE Institute, Berlin. 2014 Course in Cultural Anthropology at the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. 2015 Erasmus program at Hacettepe University in Ankara. She won an honorable mention in photography from Monochrome Awards. 2016 collaborated with Ola-Dele Kuku and she organized “A Continuous State of Time” at the 56th Venice Biennale.
Together in 2018 they attended the Erasmus+ Course, Mobility of Youth Workers, “Social Inclusion through artistic tools” in London. In 2020 they attended the Course at Harvard University “Tangible things: discovering history through artworks, artifacts, scientific specimens and the stuff around you”. In 2022 they received a mention for their MA Thesis “Plastic Memory and Aesthetics of Immortality” from Iuav University. In the same year they took part at COME2ART Project: “Introducing a collaborative scheme between artists & community members fostering life skills development and resilience through creative placemaking”, an European Project founded by Erasmus+, KA2, ΙΚΥ. In 2023-2024 they won a Fellowship at the Nationals Museums of Berlin, Ethnological and Asian Arts Museum, at Humboldt Forum. In addition to their artistic research they have created workshops and educational programs in schools, universities and companies. In 2024 they finalzed the course ”MEDIATORE INTERCULTURALE” with Airac,MIUR. They presented their research “Floating Borders” as invited artists in a Biennale Session at the 60th Venice Biennale, into HORIZON project, part of the European Re-Value and Go!2025 project. They received a special mention from Fondazione Imago Mundi.
