INVASION AND VANITAS
SOLO EXIBITION, MACAO, MILAN, 2018
Curated by Fiorella Landolfo

The Hangar’s particular arched structure was reminiscent of a belly, where life and death take shape. We decided to imagine the visual path as a dialogue, where individual projects communicate and react each other, resulting in a laboratory where certain behaviours are analysed and studied.
Entering on the left, there is Untitled, a project developed on three small pallets representing the decomposition of a still life. A composition of cut flowers and a candle, distorted by the summer heat, is placed on the first pallet on the left. In the middle, a plate of dust, a still life which presents itself in its advanced state, the future. On the right, a glass and a green bottle. In the centre of the room there is a mobile or a giant version of the dream catcher attached to children’s beds. This structure is closely related to Untitled and the performance in which we analyse the dust.

Invasion and Vanitas, the green installation, lies behind the Mobile, from the background to the whole path. The everyday objects in the installation have been completely disassembled, covered in green satin and hand-sewn. In this environment, a room where the subtle invasion that comes from the public sphere that takes shape and penetrates our private sphere. Everything we eat, the culture, the objects we use for protection, the shelter, the communication, the dreams, what we see and wear are objects that lead us. The performance, on the other hand, is an insight. We analysed the dust bags given to us by several families. We wanted to study and trace their origin and content. Dust is a strongly identifying material and it deals with us.|
