In-formation is a site-specific work created for a building on Via Catene in Marghera.

:<<See that balcony? I used to live there. Then I took everything and left. I recommend that you take care of it>>.

Transfers, relocations and moves are the symptoms of what we call contemporary nomadism.

From nomadic to sedentary and from sedentary to nomadic. Today, as in the past, we take everything with us. The casual encounter with this gentleman made us think about the emptying of the family homes that have long characterised our lives, synonymous with security, comfort, love, stability and… home.

Where are our homes today?

They have broken down and are constantly travelling with us or in transit in cardboard boxes, used and recycled, waiting for the next landing.

Are houses still the places where we live? Is it still possible to have a point of reference in our memory, a place symbol of our life and seat of our identity? Perhaps not, but we take everything with us, everything we can bring with us. Let’s detach from the walls the memories and the memories that have characterised the atmosphere of our space. Among these fragments: us.

It is commonly believed that walls listen and absorb memories and stories, which are the most important part of our intimacy and identity that we leave behind when we move. That is why we decided to remove the plaster from the walls of this house. It took over seven hours. We scratched off layers and layers of different colours of paint and with them we created a box, In-formation. Now the house is empty and it is possible to leave. The shape of the format is reminiscent of the card box used when we move. In-formation is a storage of memories.
