AN-THRO-POS
A material archaeology (im)possible.

Deconstructed, closely observed, vivisected, dust and light reveal a simple and humble wealth. Both of them preserve and narrate, as subjects of translation, the coexistence of nature and the human being. Is not dust the most sincere, authentic and living photograph of the world?
Alice Mestriner and Ahad Moslemi explore the connections, the links where the meaning of things grows.
Their research reflects the perceptual games that fuse the relationship between human and the world, within the constant tensions that connect matter and time, constantly reconfiguring the transient and ambivalent identity of things.

Giulio Favotto, photographer and visual artist, uses a multifaceted approach between visual languages, using analogue, digital and 3D techniques to translate concepts related to interior landscapes, memory, human, animal, social and urban dynamics. Together they engage in a dialogue between dust and light, between image and matter, on the faded traces of the role and position of the anthropos: humus multiforme or one who considers what he has seen?

GF:
Since I met Alice and Ahad, I am observing and living the dust in a new way; not a waste, not a rubbish, I now see a possibility. When I think about it, it is perhaps very similar to my discovery in terms of observation: “There is nothing antique under the sun,” thundered Luigi Ghirri, shaking off that visual hibernation that does not make us look carefully at what we are used to seeing every day. And in this stupor, observing how light (and shadow) surprises me has become a founding moment. I often first observe the light that falls on something, on a person, on the person himself. And the dust? And the dust! How do I observe the dust? I’ve never looked and searched so much.
AM, AM:
It is a cliché, a collective name. It is not dust, but a set of elements, the extension of the world. A special and liminal state of matter. Dust is like a dictionary with a crazy grammar book. Nothing is more complete than dust. Dust is a material with a high degree of identification and identity, containing skin, hair, food remains, tissues, insects, microbes, plant elements and not, it contains terrestrial but also extraterrestrial materials, since it contains micro-fragments of stars and meteorites.
Dust is a portrait, a description of a living, open system. It’s an apparent great void that contains everything.
